Lamps

Oak lamp bases - available with or without shade. The base is available either in a burned or a raw finish. The burned finish is sealed with a beeswax/oil mix while the raw finish is sanded to 600 grit for a sheer, ultra-smooth finish. Please state your choice of finish during checkout. Oak dries slowly and as it dries existing surface textural cracks may extend in length and depth while new ones may form. This is entirely expected and is a feature of working with an organic, hygroscopic material. Aggressive drying, achieved by placing the lamp near an active radiator, will maximise the evolution of the surface textures on raw finish bases as blowtorching the exterior surface of burned finish bases has largely completed the surface texturing process. Please note there is a 14 day lead time for lamp bases as they are made to order. Each lamp base is wired with a two metre, linen wrapped cable, an in-line switch, and a 3A three pin UK plug. The lamp bases were designed in collaboration with the fabulous Tabitha Bargh. The small lamp base is a companion to her specifically designed carton c12 hemispherical cardboard lampshade, priced at £125.
