This piece tells the story of the tree. The Elm was a local Brighton tree and the piece comes from a crotch - a section where a major limb splits from the main trunk or another major limb. The 2 limbs' growth rings are clearly visible in the interior shot. The chainsaw marks are visible on the ragged rim. The heavy bark inclusions add texture and interest. Sealed in food safe mineral oil.
