Bog Oak Dish IV

Bog Oak is formed when an Oak dies and becomes submerged in iron rich water - e.g. fenland or peat bogs. The tannins in the Oak react wth the iron turning the wood a fabulous deep brown/near black colour over hundreds or thousands of years. This dish ranges in colour from mid tan to dark brown black with a hint of blue smoke, has a flattened lip and a constant curve across the surface of the dish with a shake filled with black epoxy. Finished in food safe mineral oil.
