Bog Oak Dish III

Bog Oak is formed when an Oak dies and becomes submerged in iron rich water - e.g. fenland or peat bogs. The tannins in the Oak react wth the iron, turning the wood a fabulous deep brown/near black colour over hundreds or thousands of years. This dish ranges in colour from dark tan to dark brown black with a hint of blue smoke, has a rolled lip with a small branch inclusion and an even thinness of 4mm across the surface of the dish to the foot. Finished in food safe mineral oil.
